Warrant emerged from Hollywood’s Sunset Strip music scene and rose to national prominence with the release of its multiplatinum debut album, “Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich,” in 1989. The album introduced audiences to rock favorites, including “Down Boys,” “Sometimes She Cries” and “Heaven,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

 

The band followed its successful debut with 1990’s “Cherry Pie.” The album produced the Top 10 hits “Cherry Pie,” “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” and “I Saw Red” and sold more than 3 million copies. Its title track has remained a fixture in popular culture, appearing in movies, television shows, commercials and the video game Guitar Hero II.om Petty and the Heartbreakers were known for signature songs, imaginative MTV videos and Petty’s unmistakable personality, it was the band’s live performances that built its enduring legacy.
